How do I clean a Tempur-Pedic (memory foam) mattress and pillow?
I have a Queen size memory foam mattress and pillow, both under the brand name Tempur-Pedic. They're great, but I find I'm having difficulty cleaning them … for example, the cat threw up a hairball on the mattress the other day, and I could spot-clean the stain with Lysol, water/soap and Febreeze, but I don't think that was sanitary enough.
With the pillow, I was told by the salesperson you can't wash it in the washer/dryer, but what are you supposed to do freshen it up (obviously, I change and wash the pillowcases frequently)? For now, I'm putting talcum powder and/or Febreeze on it, but that doesn't seem to really be hygenic. Any suggestions on how to clean it?
Thanks!
I do have a mattress cover that is removable, however, the stain went straight through that on to the actual mattress. So, yes, I can remove the cover and wash that, but it still doesn't help me with cleaning the actual mattress. And being waterproof won't rid it of the smell and bacteria of the cat vomit, unfortunately.
I told my sister to do this and it worked: Wash it outside by hand with a hose and some kind of soap that does not contain oils and that is not strong. My sister used her leftover bubble bath and it worked great. It will take a couple of days to sun dry but the sun is a natural disinfectant too. I would try to hang them so it can drip dry also.
Good luck and happy cleaning!!!!

Can anyone recommend some good travel pillows for backpacking?
Looking for something that can be packed away easily and something that medium in size with a lot of stuffing so my neck doesnt get stiff at night. Anyone help would be great, thanks!
I love this one. It's pricey, but packs down easily and is really comfy:

In lieu of that, I'm a fan of inflatable Pillows. Really light, and you can inflate to your own comfort level.
What is the absolute best most luxurious bath pillow??
I love to take bubble baths. I soak for about 20 minutes every day. I have a clawfoot tub with a tilted back that is pretty comfy, but I want to invest in a spa bath pillow. Which one is the best??
To be honest I dont think it matters how expensive it is, I was given one for christmas from my boyfriend and it just sticks right to the tub, and I've never been so comfy in the tub! It's SO great!!
What is the best quality duvets and pillows you can get?
I am about to buy a new duvet and new Pillows as they are starting to get old but i was wondering what pillows would be the most comfortable and that my head wont sink through. Also what will be the warmest stuffing to have in a duvet. I am trying to prepare myself for winter!
Thanks
Also what is Hollow fibre? And would a 13.5 tog duvet made of this be warm?
The higher the thread count, the better it is. The higher the down count the better it is. Down is what keeps you warm, yet is light in weight. Don’t buy anything with feathers ,or very many feathers. They get squishy, and stick through the cotton.
