What kind of accent pillows are best for slippery leather furniture?
I have leather furniture, and I love accent pillows, because they always add color to a room. My problem is that they always slide down on the leather. What kind of outside material should I look for and does someone know of a website where I can find them? thanks
What were the "sliding" pillows made of? I suspect they may have been silk, or a similar fabric that was delicate and lightweight. Try an accent pillow with more "substance," such as a nubby texture, or a tweed type fabric. I have some throw pillows that are made from a soft micro-fiber fabric, and one that is made from suede. The suede fabric is soft, but it is not "slick" and I don’t think it would slide on the leather.
Also, a pillow bound with a thick cording might stay put. I think that might be the key, so I would definitely look for that detail.
If you do not remove the consumer tags that are attached tot he pillow, leave any other tags intact, you will be able to exchange or return the Pillows with a receipt. I would use them for a day or two – being careful not to use them as a head rest, and see how they perform. If the pillow still slips and slides, you can take it back to the store.
So, to summarize, look for a heavier fabric, one with texture, if possible, and look for bound or corded edges.
