Creating A Comfortable Nursing Area – 5 Invaluable Tips
Once you have reached your third semester, you will have to start buying your breast pads, loose button down shirts and nursing bras for the months ahead. While preparing for breast feeding, you can create your own custom designed area for yourself. You want to make your nursing area reflect your own personality. If you prefer a loud and friendly surrounding, you could set up in the corner of your family room or living room. Ensure that you keep a couple of chairs near you so that family members and friends can give you company.
If you would like to have a quiet and peaceful nursing area, an empty guest room or cozy study would be a good idea. You can dim the lights and close the door when you want if you want to take a couple of calming breaths while breast-feeding.
1. Your chair
It doesnât matter if your chair is an overstuffed recliner, a glider or a desk chair as long as it is comfortable. You will have to sit on your chair for many hours everyday, so it is best if it is extremely comfortable. Ensure that your chair offers you shoulder and back support, with arm rests.
2. Underfoot support
You can use a low coffee table, a stack of pillows, or a footstool in order to keep your feet elevated while breast feeding. You can avoid backache by raising your feet and legs while bringing your baby towards your breasts.
3. Pillows
Your arms, feet, neck and back need a lot of support and you must give it all you can. Surrounding your baby with pillows is the best idea. Lay a large pillow on your lap and lay your baby on it. The baby will be comfortable and closer to the breast. For more comfort, you can purchase a nursing pillow that is specially made to encircle your waist.
4. Table
Always keep a stand or a small table within arm’s reach from your breast feeding chair. Your table should be large enough for holding a glass of liquid and a coaster. Some people like to use a straw to drink, while others prefer to do so from a glass.
You will also like to keep a few healthy snacks within reach, such as nuts, peanut butter and crackers, and fresh fruits to help give you energy while breast feeding.
5. Distractions
In case your baby eats slowly or has a big appetite, you will want to ensure you have things to keep yourself busy while feeding. If there is a nearby cupboard, fill its shelves with your favorite books or keep crossword puzzles nearby to keep yourself occupied while the baby feeds. Also ensure you have a telephone nearby in case you wish to talk to some friends or family members to pass time.

Add Color to Your Home With Accessories
It is much more fun to live in a home that has some splashes of color as opposed to one that is decorated strictly in neutral tones. Most contractors and interior designers stress that people who plan to remodel their homes should not invest in outrageous or bright colors for the more permanent features. You might have a beautiful home but if decide to install bright red vanities, a purple refrigerator, and paint the walls various shades of green, then you might have trouble trying to sell it. You do not need to give up on your love of color, however, just because you need to make sure you outfit your house in a resalable condition. Here are some great ways to add flair to your home without doing any permanent damage.
The bathroom is often one of the most boring looking rooms in the house. People simply do not have much of an opportunity to add color when the majority of the room is filled with the toilet, bathtub, sinks and the vanity. However, you can certainly spice things up with the bathroom furniture. These items are everything from the laundry hamper and step stools to towel racks and bathroom shelving units. Brightly colored rugs, towels, and shower curtains do a wonderful job of bringing life into this room. Get creative! It can really pay off and you will love your new bathroom.
For your bedroom, invest in colorful window coverings and fun sheets, comforters, and throw Pillows for the bed. Since the bed is the main attraction, draw attention to it with light green sheets, a deep blue comforter, and bright yellow decoration pillows. Another option is to add color with the shades. One option is to have dark wood window frames with green transparent window coverings to create a look that really âpops.â
When you are decorating the other rooms in the house, try to look for fun rugs, if you have wood or tiled floors, and beautiful wall hangings. These could be paintings, decorated mirrors, or tapestries, depending on your wall space and your current decor.
Furniture such as vanities, bathroom cabinets, mirrors, fun shades, and tapestries are fantastic ways to brighten up your home. Do not despair when you have to install items that are only neutral tones. Add color and flair your own way!
